The recent discussion of time brings this to mind:
A basic insight of process thinking can be stated
like so: Time is relative. By that is meant not
just a property of time that becomes salient only
when relatively high velocity affects observation,
but the more central circumstance that process is
primary while time is secondary, that is, time is
a derivative idea that depends on the contingency
of a standard reference process, generally called
a "clock", along with the possibility of relating
arbitrary processes to the elected standard clock.
I will keep in mind to develop some of the system-
theoretic implications of this intuition as we go.
