ONT Re: Flying Fickle Fingo Of Fate

IN = Issac Newton
JA = Jon Awbrey
JC = John Collier

JA, quoting IN:

    "Hypotheses non fingo"

JC: You should know that this quote is taken entirely out of context.
    It is a totally inappropriate answer to my question, and ignores
    the nature of Newton's rules if it is supposed to be an answer.

True, more or less, as I comment later on this thread.
But I think that it is still fair to say that Newton
kept his abductive faculties well-compartmentalized
away from his in-&-de-ductive apparatus, and that
the fancy of a "particular to universal" style
of induction, that even Aristotle knew better
than, only serves to confound the creative
process of concept generation with the
routine process of concept probation.

There are, of course, many other problems
with the "particular" bias of these rules.

Just the way I see it,

Jon Awbrey
