ONT Resolved: To Clearly Distinguish Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics

Friends, Romulans, Countremind, ...

I would like to try and seize upon a point of potential agreement among us,
on the need to distinguish, more clearly than ever before, two and perhaps
three aspects of meaningful discourse and thought. I would like to, but I
cannot, not just yet, for we are more seized up in the present morass than
we are able to seize that for which I will hopefully guess we are reaching,
all for the lack of congruent conceptions, or maybe just shared nominology.

We seem to have reached a moment of syzygy on the analogy of coordinate axes,
and to these extents I am able to keep my childhood faith in cartesian rules
for the mind's directions, so long as we understand that these are but local
precepts, like the local coordinates of latitude and longitude that transect
the manifold of sensuous impressions that all the world calls its very globe.

So I will begin with those elliptical grains of mustardseed,
and see where we can go from there ...
