SUO: Re: CG: Re: Factorization Issues
Hi,
I'd like to introduce WebKB-2, a large-scale updatable-by-users ontology
server. It's usable at:
http://meganesia.int.gu.edu.au/~phmartin/WebKB/shared.html
Its shared KB has been loaded with WordNet merged into a top-level
ontology of 100 top-level concept types and 140 basic relation types.
To permit filtering on users, each element of the KB (category,
category name, link between categories, concept node or relation node)
is associated with an identifier of the user who created it.
Each category may have several names and statements may be written using
names instead of category identifiers when constraints permit to lift
ambiguities about the refered categories.
Categories and links can be searched, browsed and displayed in several
formats. Statement retrieval is currently limited to search for
graph specializations and need to be improved.
Simple update rules permit to maximize knowledge reuse and avoid conflicts.
Examples: (i) a user may not modify a statement that s/he has not created
but s/he can connect it to another statement via a relation of type'
pm#corrective_specialization, pm#corrective_generalization or pm#correction,
(ii) a user must also use these relations in order to add a statement that
WebKB detect as a specialization or generalization of another statement.
WebKB-2 is based on a language of commands and scripts may be written.
To familiarize with WebKB, first browse categories and try examples.
If you want a slighly longer summary (2 pages), go to
http://meganesia.int.gu.edu.au/~phmartin/WebKB/doc/summary.html
Hope you'll enjoy WebKB.
Philippe
