Brainstorming Session

All,

Thanks for all the responses. Sound's like we have some
interest.

Let's take this week to brainstorm potential activities of a
Community of Interest. They should have some relationship to our prior
interests and to the scope of our chartering organization (IEEE Computer
Society), but this is brainstorming, so let all the ideas fly.

Per the rules of brainstorming, please don't discuss any ideas
yet. I'll compile the ideas and we'll start discussions next week.

I'm sure there are many ideas amongst us, so please post what
comes to mind.

Subject: SUO WG rechartered for general activities,

SUO WG Subscribers,

The former IEEE SUO WG has been granted status as a 'Community
of Interest' by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Activities Board
(TAB). As before, there is no cost to participate in this group, and
participants do not have to join IEEE.

In short, this means we can at least maintain our email
discussion list, email archives, and web site (at http://suo.ieee.org).
But it also means we can engage in other related technical acitivites if
we so choose.

I suggest we brainstorm some ideas, then see if anyone wants to
pursue any of them.

We'll need to change our name, elect new leaders, and update the
web site, but let's first see if we can get any activities going, and
let that drive administrative changes.

Before we kick off the brainstorming, are there any questions?
