Re: SUO WG rechartered for general activities,
I am also interested in continuation as a community of interest.
I also strongly support John Sowa's statement of gratitude to Jim Schoening
for his ever-patient and diplomatic guidance of this forum over the years.

SUO WG rechartered for general

SUO WG Subscribers,
The former IEEE SUO WG has been granted status as a 'Community
of Interest' by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Activities Board
(TAB). As before, there is no cost to participate in this group, and
participants do not have to join IEEE.
In short, this means we can at least maintain our email
discussion list, email archives, and web site (at http://suo.ieee.org).
But it also means we can engage in other related technical acitivites if
we so choose.
I suggest we brainstorm some ideas, then see if anyone wants
to
pursue any of them.
We'll need to change our name, elect new leaders, and update
the
web site, but let's first see if we can get any activities going, and
let that drive administrative changes.
Before we kick off the brainstorming, are there any questions?
