Let me clarify. I'm not suggesting this be a show-and-tell of what has been proven, but rather an R&D effort to get this to work, followed by a show-and-tell if it does work. It could be that once multiple domain and subdomain ontologies are factored in that we lose so much in semantics to be of no value. I'm hopeful we can find a way to retain enough cross-domain semantic interoperability to enable some killer apps. This might be easy to show in a small demonstration, or it could take many expensive attempts. If anyone knows of any demonstrations, applications, or papers that have addressed this, please let us know.
