William's syndrome huh? Does it have to be me who is the first one to mention
the parallel with gender stereotypes?
Anyway, John, all of that is very interesting, but what does it have to do
with syntax? I scanned your message for anything about syntax, and all I
found was:
"...the rich syntax of modern humans must be the result of a long period of
evolution."
From that I take it Deacon's treatment of syntax is less than exhaustive.
So you might get me to read the book, but so far I won't be reading it to
learn about syntax.
Does Deacon have any kind of exhaustive treatment of syntax? In particular
does he have an explanation for the observations made by Howarth in my last
message?
