4D Ontology Update

Dear Colleagues,

There was a request for a status update on the various projects. So here
is a brief update on the 4D ontology.

The 4D ontology takes as its start point the IS 15926-2:2003 data model
(equivalent to a discription logic ontology). This provides a core
ontology of individuals, classes, physical properties, and some key
relationships.

In the last 6 months I have been developing a 4D mereotopology with
John Stell (at Leeds University) and this has been accepted for and
will be presented at FOIS. This takes a boolean connection algebra
and adds a historical closure operator and two further operators,
pre-history and post-history that form a Galois connection.

We are currently looking at which area to address next.
