Controlled natural language for program debugging



I've been promoting the use of controlled natural
languages for various puposes, but some people have
questioned its usefulness for programming.

Although I admit that it is unlikely that CNLs will
replace traditional programming languages anytime
soon, programmers perform many tasks other than
writing programs.  One of the most troublesome is
degugging.

Recently, some researchers at Carnegie-Mellon
University have been exploring the usefulness of
NLs or CNLs for program debugging.  Following is
