Re: SUO: Re: How to put this on a web site
Jon,
Just two comments, and I will shut up on this issue.
1. I know that you are creating your own little trail of
breadcrumbs through the archive of SUO emails. You
seem to find that archive useful, but I find it extremely
difficult to navigate. I use Google to find things in
various archives (including SUO and CG) because it is too
difficult to use them in any other way. I don't know of
anyone but you who has been able to follow your breadcrumbs,
and I hereby ask whether anyone else has found it useful.
2. A chacun son gout. You are entitied to your own preferences
in style and organization in your own private matters. But
this is a public e-mail list, and you have to compromise to
accommodate the preferences of other SUO members. That means
that you should avoid cluttering their mailboxes with useless
notes and present the results of your efforts in a form that
readers can usefully read and navigate through -- both of
those goals can be met more effectively by a web site than
by your trail of breadcrumbs.
