Re: SUO: Re: SUOP Topic :> Definition Of Definition

Tom,

The excerpt on my web site is taken from the KR book, and
perhaps I should have included more.

The more complete description in the KR book includes the use
of definitions for the criterion of "vocabulary preserving".
When combined with definitions, the two criteria of proof
preserving and vocabulary preserving cover those cases.

However, I also admit that my formal definition only covers
formalized languages, such as the things we have been talking
about for the SUO.

Natural languages are far more complex, and those criteria
would have to be developed far more extensively with far more
qualifications and a much richer system that gets into what
I call the "Knowledge Soup". For more on NL, see
