ZOO.  Discussion Note 14

Murray,

I have just drawn a graph in the SUO archive that may be
taken to have the structure of the following rooted tree:

o = Node_1 = http://suo.ieee.org/email/msg11563.html
|
o = Node_2 = http://suo.ieee.org/email/msg11564.html
 \
  \ o = Node_3 = http://suo.ieee.org/email/msg11570.html
   \|
    @ = Node_4 = http://suo.ieee.org/email/msg11571.html

There is nothing unique about the graph-theoretic structure
that I've assigned to this linkup of nodes, but this is one
of the more plausible alternatives that suggests itself and
that lends itself to a rule-governed way of being developed.
When I first began exploring the connections between graphs
and logic I used to develop something like six alternatives
in parallel to test which of them had the nicest properties,
and we may find it useful to examine other possibilities in
the course of this investigation.
