In starting this thread, Jim said

My organization, VivoMind LLC, is working on ontologies, but
we would not adopt any of these as a foundation for our work.
However, we would consider picking and choosing bits and
pieces -- even modules -- from them.
And I strongly urge other groups to add their contributions,
especially Dolce. As I said many times, I would not adopt
Dolce as a foundation, but it does contain a great deal
of hard work that is worth considering.
