A few brief comments:
1. That essay by Susan Haack on "Vulgar Rortyism"
emphasizes the reasons why I can't stand Rorty.
Susan Haack is good, and I like her idea that
Peirce is a 21st century philosopher.
2. And yes, there is a lot of interest in Peirce
among the Japanese -- including many of the
Japanese researchers working in AI.
3. And the Zen and Taoist principles have had a
strong influence on Chapter 6 "Knowledge Soup"
of my 2000 bouk and on Chapter 7 "Conceptual
Relativity" of my 1984 book.
