SUO: A solution to the SUMO problem
John,
Allow me to propose a solution to the SUMO problem.
Let us jointly propose a motion (along with any other members who wish
to co-sponsor) that all documents submitted are either starter
documents or expert contributions (which one doesn't matter to me) and
that none enjoy any advantage of status or privilege over any other.
This would have the advantage of allowing DOLCE and ESPITLE and any
others to be considered and worked on by members who wish to do so - all
they would have to do is contribute their document and it would
automatically enjoy the same status as any other. It would also reduce
the incentive for Jim and Adam to make further attempts to manipulate
the voting and other parliamentary procedures..
If it were sponsored by a several members I think it would easily pass.
I just saw Jim's note about including OpenCyc as a starter document,
however this doesn't solve the issue for DOLCE, etc. I assume from your
motion that you did contemplate other contributions - perhaps many more.
If you are agreeable, I think we should spend some time getting input
from interested members, who may want to be co-sponsors, and then
crafting the language of the motion..
What do you think?
Bob
