SUO: Fw: OpenCyc SUO motion


SUO WG,

        John De Oliveira of Cyc, in message below, expresses his intent
to move that SUO adopt OpenCyc 0.7 as a SUO starter document. See
http://opencyc.org/  (This message is not the actual motion, so no need
to second it.)

        First, there will be no formal actions over the holidays, but I
do think we can get some things organized over the next couple weeks. 
Also, we will not rush to a vote until we've spent plenty of time
attempting to resolve all issues. 

          Let's review where we left off and see what we need to do.

Jim,

Now that we've released version 0.7 of OpenCyc, we'll be able to refocus 
some attention on preparing to meet the needs of the SUO group (e.g. a 
bounded, text-only version of the proposed ontology), so that we can 
resubmit a motion to adopt the OpenCyc ontology as a starter document. 
We'll begin work on this when we return from the holidays. In the
meantime, 
perhaps the SUO can discuss logistics or content of the motion.

If you think this is clear enough to share with the SUO, please feel
free.
