SUO: Selection of Chair for P&P Subgroup
P&P Subgroup,
We have one volunteer (Frank Farance) for Chair of this subgroup,
with one objection to his appointment by (Bob Spillers).
I believe I have the responsibility and authority to appoint this
Chair. The objection of Bob Spillers is noted, however I don't see any
other options to be considered. Besides, I have worked on various
standards groups with Frank Farance for about 6 years and know he will do
a good job. As such, I appoint Frank Farance as Chair of the SUO P&P
Subgroup.

Yes, I'd like to volunteer. Here are some of my qualifications:
- My standards experiences are broad and deep over the past 20
years
- I'm thoroughly familiar with the IEEE and other
(national/international) standards processes
- I've trained approximately 20 IEEE WG chairs on the standards
process
- I've written P&Ps that have been adopted in IEEE committees,
national committees, and international committees (ISO/IEC)
- I have helped ISO/IEC JTC1 participants collaborate
electronically in a variety of ways
