SUO: *Date 03 May 2002 -- Information Flow

IFF Team,

Iff it's okay with you guys, I was thinking about starting up an
online reading of the Barwise & Seligman 'Information Flow' book.
I would do this as a thread of straight excerpts with no organized
critique or commentary on my part, on the Ontology Sublist, though
of course people are encouraged to hash out the material and maybe
some of you guys would be able to comment on the issues that arise.

One issue I can see I already have with this text is its non-standard use
of the terms "type" and "token".  I will reserve further judgment on that
score for the duration of the reading and merely register my scruples in
the form of this Sop to Cerberus:

So I'll go the Flow, unless any of you foresee a problem?
