Re: RE: SUO: Language & Effect of spelling on dyslexia
Hi John and CG Group,
The posts re language reception and processing put me in mind of artificial
languages such as Esperanto (I guess there are several), minimalist (not to
minimize their value!) 'concept based' subsets of natural language, and I
guess ultimately programming languages with their reserve words, constants,
and operators.
Are there any principles of novelty/redundancy working here I'm wondering.
I recall working with type-token ratios, the ratio of 'forms' to occurrences
in communication systems. If too many unique types (variety) per instances
(repetitions), as I recall, the document was shown to be less "readable?."
