I suppose this will all be developed further in the correspondence between
you and John Sowa, but I would like to suggest that besides saying a
measurement is an activity that involves these things, one may also need to
represent the "process decomposition" for performing the activity, as well
as lower-level processes that make the measurement work, e.g. how the
thermometer works, how the observer sees the thermometer, etc.
