SUO vote results
SUO Participants,
The results of the SUO vote (including all comments) are posted at
http://ltsc.ieee.org/records/suo-result-2000-07-26.htm . The votes were
15-Yes; 5-No; 5-Abstain.
Many good comments were received, which we'll now start to resolve.
Here are some points:
a. IEEE does not provide study groups with policies and procedures on
how to conduct votes or how to resolve comments, so please understand
this is an informal process of working toward consensus.
b. Comments are typcially resolved at meetings where they can each be
addressed. I'm not sure how best to do this via email, so let's just see
what makes sense. Interested participants should review these comments
and initiate discussions. I'll be away for 4 days, but will try to
organize these discussion when I return.
c. Please focus on the comments that deal specifically with the Scope
and Purpose.
d. All comments will be resolved, which means they will be posted, given
a chance for discussion, and given a chance to determine consensus. If
needed, we'll vote on specific issues, but less formal approaches are
prefered.
Thanks to all for your votes and comments. Let's proceed with
discussions on these comments.
